3D WORKS

This section will be dedicated to works that take advantage of the 3D space. These typically need many different photos and angles to capture the piece in a digital space. This includes ceramics, sculptures, and jewelry.

LOVE AS A BURDEN

Spring 2020

This piece is an oversized rose made entirely out of cardboard. When creating this artwork, I thought a lot about love as a burden. Love can be so big and overwhelming and take up so much time and energy it can become burdening.

The images show the progression of love. At first, love is a beautiful joy. As time passes, love becomes a big part of one's life taking up a lot of time and space. Finally, love has to take a backseat in life. It's removed from the spotlight and integrated into life.

MENTAL ILLNESS CUPS SET A

Fall 2019

For class, I needed to create cups that addressed misconceptions. I chose to tackle mental illness and how people mask their pain. The outside of the cups are decorated with a bright yellow color imitating the joy one shows the world trying to act like they're okay. The inside of the cups show some of the feelings and thoughts that come with certain mental illnesses. When they are filled with liquid, the holder of the cup can share in the uneasy feeling trying to keep from spilling.

URPU

Fall 2019

This is a historical appropriation of the urpu from incan civilization. I borrowed from the Incas aspects for the shape of the urpu and the style of the decorations on the surface. I gave it my own spin and personal touches in areas as well.
